They do sound adorable when they sneeze, don't they?

I purchased two for a Christmas present for my daughter and they both had the cutest sounding sneezes. Since they were babies and I had no prior experience taking care of GPs, I took them to the vet for a check-in more than a check-up. Really, I wanted to make sure I had two of the same sex because I wasn't impressed by the person who "sexed" them for me.

Anyone, to make a long story longer... both GPs are on a 14 day, 2 times a day, regimen of antibiotics. The vet said they both had upper respiratory infections that could easily turn into pnuemonia (sp?)

So, even though it does sound cute... If you can't pinpoint why they are sneezing you might want to take them to an exotic pet vet.

My guinea pig sneezes when he is sick. Is anyone around you sick? He has a cold. Or who knows? It might allergies! Maybe he's allergic to someone around you or something. NM. He is allergic to his food or the medicine that you put in his water. Do you put medicine in his water? If you don't, that is why. Guinea pigs can't live three weeks without vitamin C and the medicine is vitamin C. So if you do not have any medicine for you to put in his water bottle, go to the pet store and ask for guinea pig medicine with vitamin C. For more info, go to www.guineapigsclub.com. Good luck! Also, he might just be sneezing cause of the dust in his shavings/bedding.

It's normal as long as it's occasional. If the guinea pig is sneezing a lot, it could be a sign of a respiratory problem.

It is cute.
