How many of you DON'T know there Multiplication Table? I don't, ask my Math teacher why, lol. What can I do to actually REMEBER them. I'm in grade 8.

I do, you just have to memorize it. That's all. Flash cards help.

This is a common problem in schools these days, the only way to actually remember the times table is a method of repetition, this is OK but for some people who have a short attention span it is bad.

For some time now I have been researching an ancient form of Indian math called Vedic and you will find this method a whole lot easier. You can work it out (rather than needing to remember it) in your head and it goes a little like this.

I will take for granted you know all your small times table up to 5X5=25 and jump in on 8X9 for an example

Ok 10 - 8 =2 and 10 - 9 = 1

We then write these numbers down in the following order (either on paper or mentally)

8 2
9 1

OK we now multiply the right hand side numbers together 2X1=2

Write down 2

Now we go diagonally either 8-1=7 or 9-2=7 (this is always exactly the same number

We now write the 7 before the 2. 72. 8X9=72

It's that easy and it can be expanded upto long multiplication. I have taught my son to multiply a 10 digit number by another 10 digit number using nothing but a pen and paper. He can do it and he is 6.

Grade 8? Oh well, better late than never.

Most of the table you don't even have to memorize. When you realize that there are tricks to remembering some of the different tables, and also keep in mind that if you know AxB then you know BxA (for example, 9x7 is the same as 7x9), it seriously cuts down on what you have to memorize.

Anything multiplied by 1 will be itself. Anything multipled by 2 will just be the number doubled, which is pretty easy to remember. The 5s table follows an easy to remember pattern, because counting by fives is easy (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60...). There are tons of tricks to remembering the 9s table. Anything multiplied by 10 will be the same number with a zero on the end. When it comes to the 11s, you just repeat the digit (1x11=11, 2x11-22, 3x11=33, etc.) up until you get to 10x11, which is the same as 11x10 (110).

So that eliminates half of the tables. And the other half you can cut down in half further, because again half of the 7s table would be memorized to because by this point you'd already know 7x1, 7x2, 7x5, 7x9, 7x10, and 7x11. Use the tricks, and memorize the rest with flash cards. Make your own flash cards if you have to. They're worth the effort.

For me you don't need a flash cards...I assure to you that it is better to write the table on a piece of paper and then start memorizing it. To memorize that multiplication table easily, you just have to manage your own self, learn to be more patient. Enjoy what you are doing and always bear to your mind that "If the others made it, you can also can do it...

honestly speaking I started memorizing multiplication table just like that...I always bring my multiplication table written on a piece of paper everywhere I go and as a result I'm one of the most outstanding student in Math since elementary....that's why I like numbers.....hehehe = )

Do not do what you've been doing since 3rd grade.

Flash cards
Practice counting by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9
Care about being able to multiply
Practice doing multiplication problems
Do not use a calculator

lol whoa, when i was in grade 3 i know mostly all my multiplication table by heart, the reason is because every morning before starting class we have to answer 10 question which will test your knowledge and how past you can answer question, we get only 3 to 5 seconds to answer a particular question.

so for you to learn your multiplication table try to practice it with yr younger sister or brother if you have or try to ask your maths teacher for extras works or extras classes were by she can help you to catch up on your multiplication table

Practice makes the man perfect. Try to remember the answer of multiplication you need, consult the table if you do not succeed.Repeat this for many many examples every day.

You can remember them by getting flashcards and put the question on the front and the answer on the back. You can quiz yourself or get one of your friends to. If you do that every night for about half an hour you should rember it. You could also remember it by turning it into a game. Who ever gets the most right wins and the fist one to get 3 wrong is out of the game. That helped me.

u just have to practice, when i was in grade 6 i knew my squared numbers up to 23, i learnt my tables in grade 3, once you know your tables it'll help you in your maths

There are quiz cards for the mutliplication tables, get with a freind and make a game out of it !, get your parents involved to, chances are your about as quick as they are.
