I've been working in MS Office for 10 years. It is my opinion that for the average user (the majority) the program's capabilities have peaked and that all an upgrade provides is a new (supposedly easier) way of achieving something we learned to do in an earlier version. In other words, it wasn't broke but they fixed it anyway.

office 2003 is safer and an updated version of the previous.
try out office 2007.

(i also think that Microsoft wants to make money. they are greedy.)

Different setup and layout. If you want an opinion as to which is better then I would get 2007. I have it. It Rocks.
