I know a lot of people (including myself) who have gotten highlights during pregnancy. My doctor and some pregnancy books I've looked up have agreed that it was alright to do so because of the following reasons: 1) you aren't going to be exposed to the harmful vapors for a prolonged period of time and 2) unless you have open cuts/sores on your head (in which you shouldn't be putting chemicals on it in the first place), the chemicals won't travel into your bloodstream to cause any harmful damage, especially since professional hairdressers were taught to apply the dye a 1/2 inch away from the scalp.Hope this helps!

maximum women who dye their hair, proceed to take action for the time of being pregnant. 2 of the justifications human beings say that's not a reliable theory, is simply by fact the pigmentation of your hair and epidermis can exchange for the time of being pregnant, which potential your scalp may be greater gentle, or the colour would alter once you dye your hair, and because in case you have been to have an allergic reaction it could placed the well being of your self and foetus in danger. yet while youve used a similar dye earlier, you be responsive to you at the instant are not allergic. I used to have highlights while i exchange into pregnant, and while the bleach have been given on my scalp, i've got been given blisters, which I never experienced so intense earlier being pregnant. even although, while i desperate to bypass darkish, I used an ammonia unfastened dye and it exchange into fantastic. there'll continually be a minority who propose against each thing in being pregnant, however the prevalent public do not see a issue with this. sturdy success with the toddler plans! :)

I was told back in the day you weren't aloud to dye your hair while pregnant due to the chemicals. Since then the chemicals have changed and its fine to colour your hair. Some women prefer to do it after 3 months, just in case.

i always heard it can mark the baby... like the baby will come out with a blonde stripe in the front... it actually happened to my step mom her daughter came out with a blonde streek in the front of her head but that could have just been her hair... but other than that the chimicals can hurt the baby... also the dye will not take to your hair very well cuz the hormones in your body will take over you might end up looking like a skunk...LOL..

I was told not to color at all...and even if actual data is sketchy, is it really worth the risk?? (Besides it's 'kinda' fun to find your true color..especially if it has been a while) In addition pregnancy does such amazing things for hair shine and body...it will look great even without the color!

It is best not to have any chemical applications done while pregnant. There are less harmful chemicals they can use on the hair but I would call your doctor before you go and do that.

I was told that the reason you shouldn't color your hair is only because your hormones could affect the color. I was told that the chemicals themselves are not hazardous (although the fumes could be extra strong due to enhanced senses.)
