I am a foreigner living in America on a temporary visa. I was recently diagnosed with cancer of the bladder and need to have surgery within a month. I have no credit and have tried without success to obtain a loan. I do not have health insurance and do not qualify for medicare. I have $3000 in the bank. The full cost of surgery is going to be around $40k. My family does not have money and does not care about me anyway. I am considering becoming a prostitute temporarily to get some money together Is there a safer way of hooking? Obviously I don't want to walk the streets. I was wondering about working as a callgirl for a while? I really do need INSTANT money.

You can get American quality surgery done in India for very cheap. Many Indian doctors and nurses are trained in America and then go back to India to work, so their hospitals are American standard for 3rd world prices. They did an expose on it on television a couple weeks ago. You might want to look into private hospitals in India.
There is no way of being safe as a prostitute. There are murders and rapists galore out there who are looking for people to take advantage of. Besides the risk of getting caught is too high and then you will wind up in jail and deported minus your 3000. I would suggest getting in touch with other immigrants and seeing what they do. Many places don't do very thorough checks on immigration papers, so... that might be an out for you. Also there are millions of grocery stores(mom and pop) stores out there that hire without checking for paper work. There are so many other things that pay well that are safer. Talk to other immigrants. They will tell you what to do. But if you have to, then to avoid getting arrested, move to Nevada, prostitution is legal there.

For starters, I would seek out the aid of the Catholic Church. While I do not care for their theology, they do have excellent out reach programs for those in need. Second, I would see if the Veterans Administration hospitals would care for you. They are funded almost entirely by the Federal government and their doors are open to anyone. The organization "Doctors (or Physicians) without Borders might be able to help you as well. IF all else fails, then your best place, in my opinion, would be a brothel in Nevada. There are several, and they allow women who need, or want extra money to work there. IF you have to fly, and do choose to be a hooker at a brothel in Nevada, by a round trip ticket, it will be less expensive. One last point, use the spice Curry. Use as much of it as you can take, as often as possible. It will inhibit the growth of new blood vessels which the cancer will want to grow to feed itself. Recent studies by doctors have proven this to be true.

I know what I am about to say is not legal but because you are in dire straits and you have a health issue that needs to be addressed. I would suggest coming up to Canada if at all possible and applying as a refugee and then asking for medical care. Try to see someone at ac ommunity hosptal and get the help you need.

Where are you from originally? Is it possible that you could go back to wherever you are from and get the surgery there then come back? Does that country have cheaper healthcare? You could see what the exchange rate would be if you brought that 3000USD back to your place of origin and maybe pay for treatment that way.

If you get yourself arrested, the state would pay for your surgery if can get them to take you to a doctor. On the other hand, you might die in jail because of no treatment at all.
Move to Nevada where what you are contemplating is legal.

Or, how about "instant healing" of your cancer? Drop the prostitute idea for good and visit a spirit-filled church in your area. Go to the front for prayer for your healing of the cancer. Keep your $3,000 and get a regular job after you are healed--then give God the glory for your healing and keep going to church after that. Then write a book about your life and your story and your healing.

Maybe it would be cheaper if you went home to get the surgery. Your own country may also help you to pay for it. prostitution should never be an option. You may heal your bladder, but, you will damage your mind and self-esteem forever.

What you need to do is go to the hospital, and talk to them about your situation. There are agencies who help people like you. They have people in the hospital who can refer you to the resources you need.
Becoming a prostitute is stupid and dangerous, and you couldn't make $40,000 that fast anyway.
