Characteristics of friends?

What are some characteristics you look for in a good friend? Are they really your true friends or just acquantances???

I look for people that are not pretentious. I want a friend that is kind and thoughtful of others, not just of me or to me. I want a friend that believes in God and Jesus and cares about others.
I don't want to hear someone gossip or ridicule others and I do not enjoy people that think money has anything to do with class.
Honest, kind and genuinely caring. That is it.

Good Friends Characteristics:

1) When you forget the song in your heart, a friend is someone who sings it back to you.

2) A friend's support is unconditional: when the going gets tough a friend is right there beside you.

3) A friend has seen you at your worst and loves you even so.

4) A friend is someone with whom you can share secrets in confidence.

5) You can phone a friend for help even in the middle of the night.

6) A friend is honest with you, deflates your ego and inflates your Self.

7) A friend shares your sense of humour, provides nourishment and inspiration for the mind.

8) A friend is drawn to you not not for what you are but who you are.

9) When you share your wildest dreams, a friend is someone who replies, quote, How can I help? unquote.

10) Thinking about Needs and Values, once you have recognized those Needs which,satisfied, enable you to be the best person you possibly can be, a friend will help you get them met.

A real friend:
1. A trustworthy person.
2. Stays by your side.
3. Doesn't hesitate to give you their real opinion
4. Can talk to you about everything and anything.
5. Can tell your real emotions.
6. Can't stay angry at you for too long.
7. Knows you almost better than yourself.
8. Is your friend no matter what happens.
9. Doesn't believe any random BS about you.
10. Can stay close no matter what distance.

An acquaintance:
1. Talks to you occasionally
2. Won't stay by your side
3. Can easily believe gossip about you.

Remember: A GOOD friend will bail you out of jail, but a REAL friend will be sitting next to you saying: we really screwed up.

I dont know if this is a characteristic, but I like for conversations. Do we have enough in common that we actually can have a conversation for at least 10 minutes? Also I like friends who smile a lot and I can joke around with. These are my really good friends characteristics.

True friends are the ones I can trust and laugh with.

Acquaintances are the ones that I can have idle chit chat, but most of the time, I don't really say anything except hi.
