Everyone has psychic powers if he is a person of even simple intelligence; if his brain does function even to the simplest extent. By psychic powers I think you mean whether you can set a tree on fire by concentrating on it. Harper Lee had written in "To Kill a Mocking Bird" when Attricus Finch talks to his children Jem and Scot , that if a crowd of people watching a match concentrated together about setting a tree on fire, the tree would surely catch fire. This is a psychic power which is available to all. But more important than this is the power of intuition which is a gift from God which in Christian terms is the Gift of the Holy Spirit. This comes from living a life in consonance with the scriptures, whichever religion you follow. Because if you dont, your mind will be cluttered in mundane daily occurances and happennings of the world and neither will you allow your brain the time to concentrate to avail this gift of intuition nor the psychic powers you have asked about.

When you are able to guess the numbers of the lottery and claim your full prize, you would know you have psychic powers. Anything else is just powerful empathy and being a lucky guesser. You might be very good with people but I wouldn't put it down as some kind of "psychic" power. Just that you are able to be a good judge of people.

You just know. You start saying something to someone and they say, "Hey I was just thinking of that", or you feel something, a sense of some sort that something is going to happen, and it does. etc. It's very hard to describe, you just know.
