Say your hometown is Chicago and you have loan payments to be made to a bank in Chicago. You'd like to pay this loan payment through your hometown bank. Yet you live and work in Cairo Egypt. Which bank in Cairo and what service would allow you to make money transfers to your hometown bank?

I don't know how to respond to Psycho's response.

Western Union is something I definately don't want to use.

I was hopeing to use an EFT (electronic funds transfer) between the two bank accounts.

American Egyptian Bank doesn't have the best website and I can't understand the full breadth of its services.

I was hopeing to do a funds transfer electronically between the two bank accounts and then do a automatic payment from the hometown bank account.

Does that make more sense?

You should be fine doing it through Banque De Cairo. There are branches in Cairo, and in all cities in Egypt.
I am Australian and work part of the year in Egypt. I have never had any problems transferring money to pay things such as paying my loan and credit card in Australia. Also paying any bills I've received at home, there is always something I forget!
As I am away for around 4mths a year this has to be done!
I am sure that there will be other banks that have this service as well.
If you are really concerned, contact your home branch and they will tell you if they deal with only certain banks in Egypt.
Using Western Union is an option, I guess. But not for me, its too expensive.

Yes, Western Union definetely does that.

Edit: you can transfere it Electronically via western union too!!..well however, If any bank was to do it, it would be Citibank, or maybe HSBC..not sure tho !
