which are the same strength as your current pair, do you have to take in details of your vision specifics, or can they tell your current prescription from checking your lenses?
I don't know if I can be bothered to pay for another eye test when I had my last one just over a year ago anyway!

if you go to the same place as last time they have your prescription on record, if not, there's a machine thing that they use, they'll take your glasses from you, examine the lenses and they can work out the prescription from that.

If you're going to the same place the you should be in the computer with the details they need.However if it's been awhile or a new place you might have to retake the vision test to make sure your prescription hasn't changed. Once I used my old lenses in a new pair of frames but that was years ago.It all depends

An optician can neutralize your current lenses in something called a lensometer to get the prescription. All opticians have these to be able to check glasses for correctess before dispensing them.

In the UK, new glasses can be made using this measurement.

If you go to the same place that you got your last pair at, they should have your prescription on file. I know the place I go to does, but I live in the states, so it may be different.

If you shop around some opticians give you the eye test for free if you buy your new glasses from them.

they make you take a test every year even if you have you prescription, go to wal-mmart to get your eyes checked they are cheap, its only $30 then bring it in to get the frames of your choice, hope this helps...
