Check your dictionary- seriously. There are several listings of prefix and suffix morphemes. They will often show what parts of speech the morpheme attaches to, such as the morpheme -ness is applied to nouns (ex. happiness). A good dictionary is the key. Try Oxford American English or the American Heritage.
