im new at the hole army thing, got married june 3rd, 06. this is my first time i had to move, how do i meet new friends (besides the ppl i work with)thanks :-)

Every Army battalion has a family support group (FSG), comprised of Army wives. The FSG is a great way to make friends, FSG hold events to raise money for the battalion. The money is used for family outings like BBQs and small trips. The wives often go out for dinner or other events and are there for each other during rough times like deployments.

If u live in base housing it will be easy to make new friends..military wives just seem to gravitate to each other, so just start saying hello, and going for walks eventually someone will gravitate to u. Try getting involved, theres always functions going on at the base that u can take part in to get to meet new people..

You can join a bowling team ,play for the base softball team if they have one,join the wife's club and the list goes on and on.Look and you shall find stuff do do and people to meet.Its an adventure.Good luck!!!

Talk with your husband and meet some friends with him also meet some of your neighbors. Find a church and you can make friends that way too!
