I fantasise about winning the lottery, I have a family syndicate of, which my mum is involved. I don't think there is any harm about fantasies.

The thing about fantasies is that they are by their nature unreal, and unlikely to be acted upon or to actually happen. A rich fantasy life is important, as it allows a person to explore imaginary aspects of their own life. As such, fantasies are free.
If you find one happens often enough that it gets in the way of your normal functioning (ie if you think about it all the time, or if you become convinced that your life will only be complete if you can act on the impulse)) it could be that your fantasy (no matter what it is) has become an obsession. Obsessive fantasies about anything can become unhealthy, and it might be worth talking privately to a psychiatrist about it.
But if it's just a fantasy, then bring it on. It's your own head, it doesn't hurt anyone, so I would say there's no harm in it.

Stop antagonizing the poor asker of this question. First of all, he did not specify what sort of fantasies, and whether or not he realistically plans to pursue them. Additionally, he did not admit that he himself had the fantasies. Do not jump to conclusions.
If you are having sexual fantasies about your mum, this is explained by Sigmund Freud as the Oedipus Complex, expressing sexual love for one's own mother. Freud claimed that this was a common, even normal aspect of childhood development. Many modern psychologists disagree.
If this is a frequent problem, suggest seeking the help of a psychoanalyst, if not, it's harmless and is probably a passing phase.

Well, since you didn't state categorically that you were talking about sexual fantasies i shall take it to mean fantasies of health, wealth and happiness and perhaps a few comedic moments thrown in there to keep her grounded.
Nothing wrong with that, now is there?

Depends what the fantasies are, depends on what your morals of what is wrong or right are. It is looked down upon in society but if you don't think it is wrong and it makes you happy, then thats up to you.
