My friend says he saw a flying lemur once. Do they even exist?

There are two, actually. One is called the "Sunda flying lemur" and the other is called the "Philippine flying lemur". These two species are only found in Asia and a couple of zoos, though, so I don't know if you're friend could have seen one in real life or not...

It's true. Flying lemurs dont really fly like a bird. They kinda of glide from tree to tree.

Yes Virginia, there is a flying lemur. And they live on the island of Madagascar off the east coast of Africa.

I don't think they can actually fly, but can leap long distances between trees and this is called flying, as the stick out there arms and kind of soar or glide

Yes, there is. but they don't really fly. Excess skin between their body and limbs allows them to glide from tree to tree, just like flying squirels.

yes....it seems it could fly but it actually can't........it can jump from tree to tree using its wing like structire between its arms and body
