As in some games pixel size will be 640*480, 800*600...
and we get in full screen (though 640*480)....

Suppose we have a monitor of 1208*1024..can it change into 640*480 while playing games (or) it just comes in the center with black screen around it!

Either it will stretch to full screen, which will make it blurry and not in the correct aspect ratio (640x480 = 4x3, 1280x1024 = 5x4), or it will display a tiny image surrounded by humongous black bars, or it will scale to full screen and keep the correct aspect ratio by adding black bars on the sides, depending on your video card driver's settings and on how your particular monitor handles different resolutions.

Very nice question!
but friend i don't think LCD's provides this facilty. They fullfill only the required area not the fullscreen as CRT. Y' u will see black borders around running screen. but Another way is (if it has) zoom the window means change the size of window while u running the game with low resolution. It will automatically retains its natural value after u exit the game.

The actual physical pixels don't really change size, but you can switch pixel size of your desktop. The screen will either have a black area around the image or the image will be scaled to fit.

LCD monitors have a "native resolution" that they work and look best at. Sometimes they'll manage to do other resolutions, but there is only ONE they work best at.
And man, you'd think a guy with all those certs and training and experience knows an LCD has a native resolution :D

it will change into the full screen view. but it will not look nice. why would you not put it to its maximum resolution (1208x1024). is it because you don't want to stress the game so it slows down?

You are referring to the display resolution. The switching is more of a function of the video adapter. It does not mater if you use a CRT or LCD.
