The .70 part is that you worked 70 percent of one hour, which equals 42 minutes because (0.7)(60) = 42. What your paycheck is saying is that you worked 11 hours, 42 minutes.

.70 hours means 70% of one hour, or 42 minutes. It is written that way because 1 = 1 hour, and it must be fractional because most systems cannot read minutes. So you were paid for 11 hours and 42 minutes.

42 min-Do they really count the two minutes at your place?
Its written in decimal form cause its easier to calculate then if said, "11 and 7/10 hours"
Since calculators dont really do fractions and your money is calculated in decimal form, then if you put the two together, you now know why they do it all in decimal form.
Its a lot simplier.
So, 0.7 hr equals 42min. If you ever see something like that again, you can calculate it in your head. 0.1hrs equal 6 mins.
so... 0.2 hrs would be 12 mins (2x6)
and 0.8hrs would be 48 mins (8x6)
Have fun calculating how long you worked!

Haha - u are funny. 11.70 means the .70 is 70/100ths ....first you need to solve this problem: 70/100 = X/60 cross multiply and solve for X to get the actual amount of minutes that you are being paid for and if that stumped you...then quit your day job and get back in school! :)

It's 7 tenths of an hour.
One-tenth of an hour is 6 minutes, so 7 times that is 42 minutes.
