Why do we all come on here and rant and rave about stuff we have absolutely no control over?

I will be the first to admit that I am guilty...and if you say that you aren't...you are a liar.

But, anyway, we come on here and talk and argue about stuff that we can not control. Sure we vote...sure we do what we can. But, at the end of the day they are going to do what they want anyway.

I think that a lot of it has to do with us feeling helpless. We all know that our government is wrong on more levels than we can count. They do not listen to us...they honestly do not care. I do not know what else they have to do...other than flat out saying that they don't care...to make people realize this.

I think that we use this as a means to just get stuff off our chests and get feedback from other people so we know that we aren't alone.

There is nothing wrong with discussing things we cannot control.

It is a trivial example, but we do not control the physical universe and yet we benefit from the scientific study and philosophical discourse of it. Also, in terms of social &/or political issues, you may have more power than you think.

The problem is with people who are politically opinionated about things they know nothing about. Recent studies indicate that up to 1/3 of Americans cannot find Iraq on a map. If you do not even know where Iraq is, then your opinion is certainly worthless, because where Iraq is located is an important part of what Iraq is and how it fits in to things.

How many Americans know that Iran is not an Arab country and that Arabic is not their language? How many Americans know how the Kurds fit into the equation and why both Turkey and Syria would prefer if there all were eliminatd?

How do creationists who, in truth, know that they are completely ignorant of science , in good conscience repeat the lies of those who are using the movement only to benefit their own personal wealth? Evolution is as real as gravity, electricity, and atomic theory. Young Earth believers are as out of touch as those who refused to accept that the earth was not flat and that the sun did not revolve around the earth.

The internet’s most negative feature is the access it provides for people to exploit the weak of mind and intellectually lazy – which, unfortunately, includes a lot more people than it should.

By discussing your point of view, is the first step, you will find out you are not alone in your view points and that is what makes the US the best country in the world. Anywhere else you would get a knock on your door and you would never be seen again. So please keep voting and voicing your opinion and it will make this country a better place. Thanks

The apathetic mentality in this country is to blame. "I'm upset, but what can I do?" Every vote counts. Hitler was voted into the Nazi party by one vote. Make your voice heard, otherwise the system crumbles. No vote = no voice, nor any right to ***** about the outcome.

1) I talk a lot about things one can change.

2) Even if it's impossible to do anything about something it's good to get it off your chest.
