thats a crock of crap; in todays courts, they REQUIRE DNA testing. the government (state and federal) is tired of DEADBEATS. that is why the laws today are strict.
the childs needs comes before all of us, period.

If a "feminist" is supporting something that is lowering another person's rights like that, then he/she isn't a true feminist.
I believe that in all cases where a man is being sought for child support, there should be a paternity test and if it comes back that the guy isn't the father he should be able to choose if he pays child support or not(only applicable if he was in the role of father for that child before the paternity test was done). And if a woman somehow manages to fraudulently acquire money from a man that isn't the father, she should be punished. I also think that if a man wants to completely walk away from his child and doesn't ever seek to have contact with them in the future, he should be able to not pay child support. After all, if a woman can choose to have or not have a child, the man should be able to choose if he is going to be in that child's life or not if the woman chooses to keep the child.

Its simple- because someone needs to take care of that child. If they cant find the real dad; atleast they have someone to pay them support so the mother doesnt need goverment assistance. He signed the birth certificate- and if they are married any child born in that marriage is considered the husbands
It is utterly disgusting that any woman would lie about who the father of her child is. Its very funny how if DNA evidence is used for a murder and can cross out a suspect- then DNA evidence needs to cross off a person of who is found not to have fathered a child.
Its a sad fact that a lady can be having sex with multiple men and pick out the one who makes more money to be responsible for her child. He wont contest it because most men dont think about things like that- and plus he was sleeping with her.
Its a sad fact that many men paying for child support; arent the real father. It could be because they never suspected infidelity in a relationship.
DNA testing should be mandatory in any custody/child support case- that way children have access to theIR real father- this should never happen to anyone. No man should have to take responsibility for another mans action.
And if a woman is having sex with multiple partners; should having a child be her priority?
Atleast people are starting to see this is a problem; and some courts are even allowing DNA testing to stop there financial support if the child is found not to be his.

Although I am a what some would regard as "feminist", I do not support paternity fraud, and in all honesty, I really don't appreciate someone ASSUMING my views are as such. One should never make assumptions ... it could get them into a lot of trouble some day.
Why on earth should someone pay paternity, for a child that is not biologically theirs? The only way that I would see this as "just" ... would be if the person previously, legally adopted the said child.

I don't think I'm a feminist but a strongly opinionated woman. I watched my best friend lose his kids to a woman that passed out in the car after a bar binge-had both kids in the back seat at 4:00am in the morning. The judge trying the case missed her own damn kids due to her career and put the kids in care of the pot smoking, drink till she passes out don't know where the hell she is mother. In favor of single Dad, no dates, no drugs, clean house and laundry makes lunch daily dad. F'ing Sucks all you can do is hope they call Dad when they're ready to grow up. Peace be with you.

The answer is simple, current radical (gender) feminism supports anything that works against men, insults them or elevates women's choices above that of men and/or children's rights. Paternity fraud does all the above, in many states it's still legal to perpetuate this type of fraud.
For the naysayers:
The fact that you are ignorant does nothing to further your stance. You should read and research current events.
The American Association of Blood Banks says the 300,626 paternity tests it conducted on men in 2000 ruled out nearly 30% as the father.
The Centre for Public Health at Liverpool, analysed a wide range of international studies, looking at estimates of paternal discrepancy between 1950 and 2004.
Their findings, published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, show that rates of cases where a father was not the biological father of his child ranged from 1 per cent in some studies to as many as 30 per cent. (Odd that it is now illegal in Britain for a "father" to do a home-sytle DNA test on "his" children for the purpose of proving paternity).
Below is a link to just one of many studies: "A national sample of US paternity tests: do demographics predict test outcomes?

A certain TYPE of feminist (certainly not all) have this insane belief that women are sexually always the passive victim, and that all (heterosexual) intercourse is virtually an act of rape.
Therefore, if a woman in unfaithful, it is not HER fault, but the fault of the man who impregnates her AND her husband's fault, because if he'd been a good man, she wouldn't have needed to cheat. As he's been a failure of a husband, he deserves to pay for it financially.
I know this is completely crazy thinking and illogical as all hell, but this is how they think. And unfortunately, they have a way of getting themselves into positions of power to make decisions for other people.

Agree with Phil #3. I am amazed that so many continue to support this. What's even worse is that the courts side with the women who are cheating (both financially and relationship-wise).

*Who are you to speak for feminists?
*How do you know what ALL feminists believe?
*If you knew what feminism was about, you'd know that its about equity, that's it.
*If you bothered to talk to a few feminists, the majority want fairness, not "punishment", unless someone has committed a crime.
*You don't list any laws that support your claim, not one state's laws as an example. IF what you're saying is true, it's a ridiculous law, just like many that are on the books that affect both women and men.
