I know a couple that named their daughter Gladys Chantelle. I thought that was such a beautiful name. For a nick name they called her Chante (pronounced like Shawnee)
This is just my opinion, but for all the people with rude and snide answers. You need to grow up. Colored people, stereotypes, racist, whatever!! This is 2007, not the dark ages. It doesn't matter if the asker is colored, polka dotted or whatever. Country, race or nationality shouldn't make a difference. They're going to have a baby not commit a crime. I for one think we should be happy for them.
To the asker of this question. Congrats on the baby and good luck with the name. Don't let peoples' negative opinions bother you. You should pick a name that you love. It's your baby and your right. God has blessed you by giving you a baby. Let's hope He blesses a few other people with open mindedness and some common sense. LOL!!

I admire someone who is ghetto and knows it, and proud of it. I am a middle aged white man living in the big house driving a 5 series BMW. I will tell you what people like me think are ghetto names.
Any African heritage type name ( Bibia laka )
Any mixture of muslim and ghetto is really ghetto.

Moisha
Kaneeshwa
Jamima (yes, as in the woman on the syrup bottle)Shadiah
LeJuana
LaQuischa
Le-, De-, La-, and Da- in front of a normal, or made up name as being "ghetto." DeShawn, LeWanda, LaDonna, DeQuaya, etc.
Princess, Urhighness, Speshelle, Preshess, Dutchesse, Uneek, and Nevaeh
Misspelled names fit too: Joddy (prn Jody), Tinna (prn Tinna),
Great question, Good Luck

Just so you know, studies have shown that people (males and females) that have names like Shanequa (ghetto names, to use your terminology), have a less likely chance to get a successful, well-paying job in the corporate world. So unless you want your child to work somewhere where "Do you want fries with that?" is a permanent part of his/her vocabulary, go for a more "normal" name.

My step granddaughters name is LehTayah. I don't know if that's what you call Ghetto, but it's definately different and unique. I like the names Shenequa & Seantrel the best.

Keisha, Shynea, Sheliah, That's all I can think of right now. But, why do you say "ghetto names"? If thats what you like watch Maury you'll for sure find a ghetto name.
