What does it mean when my detailed information for battery #1 power state says On LIne, Charging, "Critical"?

Motorola Dell laptop battery 66g-a01, Lion Laptop's charging light is flashing red. I feel the batteries is probably shot. Doesn't seem to be taking a charge. Other battery is working fine. This battery quit with no warning.

You answered your own question. Dell's battery is shorted which is why it is flashing red and doesn;t hold a charge. Don't throw it in the trash. Recycle it where they accept batteries.

The battery is probably faulty.
