I hope we are only 2 years away from either.

It is reaaaalllly close.
They both have little to no chance.
To sample the American public and understand why the odds are so small - simply spend time reading responses on this board.
Granted there are a lot of black citizens who would vote for an strong black candidate - and hey Margaret Thatcher did it in England right???
Obama Barak in 2008 baby!!!!
Hillary does not have the sincerity in her eyes that he has.
And besides wouldn't it be scary as hell voting bush - clinton bush - clinton? You never know then jeb may take it over afterwards and that would be like 30 years of American leadership between 2 families......Yikes!

It depends on which party each would run in.
Here, let me explain:
Most of the democratic states are in which area? Yes, the south. Where, even though there are plenty of black people, the redneck racist whites will always be a majority, so a black guy might win if he runs republican.
If a woman runs republican, she would probably not win because there is a certain degree of male dominance on the right side, so a white woman has a chance to win if she goes liberal.
Now, when you put the green party into the mixture, then everything is screwed.

It will probably be an African-American male (long overdue) but its also sad that the superpower of the modern world has not yet had a woman when u have smart powerful candidates. To think Britain, India, Indonesia, Ireland & New Zealand already have.
But i shouldnt criticize u harshly my country still has a foreign queen instead of being a republic & our Prime Minister has his tongue so far up Bush he might as well move to the states.

Why no longer? the first answerer grow to be excellent notwithstanding. even notwithstanding i attempt to describe that "black" is a loose time period, if Obama were as brown as me (i'm miscegenated with ecu and local American), he does no longer have made it previous the primaries. E pluribus unum grow to be greatest about the "descending order" element. Obama were given 2-thirds of Hispanic help. i imagine us of a has taken a step in the right route by using electing a qualified candidate except a White male. a qualified White female or any female president will be a pleasing experience. In equity, notwithstanding, a legacy of Anglo presidents of any sex is not any different from previous kings and queens rule of ecu international locations. no longer too radical.

How about a teenage male for President? Neither of the above would be President. A woman can't even run her own home. She is always spending money! Blacks tried to run and lost!

Good question. I have to lean towards the African-American president. But a woman president is an option for 2008, and that would be torture.

I think we need a black woman. And Immediately! But since that will not happen in the next elections I think it is very possible for one of these to happen in 08'. I think people are starting to think outside of the box when it comes to running our country. Might I add it will take one hell of a person to clean this up in 08'. Good luck to them!

both at the same time because I think we have about an equal chance of either. So its possible when this country is finally ready, it will be a black woman. Unfortunately, I really think it will be awhile before that can happen. But we are making strides!
