why did it take them so long to make 15 episodes?

I think the producers were smart enough to realize the idea would wear out pretty fast. The character was funny but kind of one-dimensional. After awhile the show would reduce to recycling the same jokes over and over.

I think it is a question of quality rather than quantity.
Rowan Atkinson was involved in several other fantastic and diverse comedy shows such as Black Adder (only 26 episodes in 4 series) where quality ruled. I think he knew when an idea had run its course and it was time to create something else.

someone i know downloaded some of his work and it was really funny he also played other funny characters but i forget the name of the program look for him on the web maybe in his bio you can fine the name of other works they are really funny good luck
