i have a pavilion dv9000t are there any wireless cards at all that will work with this weird card socket that this notebook has?

Yes, all the cards will pretty much work, because they have software for you to be able to use the card. Just make sure you get the right kind of card. i believe laptop slots are PCMI .... NOT PCI.

In looking at the systems specs. The notebook should have onboard wireless.

The expansion port is a type 3 connector which is typically for devices such as an external floppy drive, but not necessarily a wireless Ethernet adapter.

All home use wireless adapters will have around the same range. What you need is a range extender.

Mr. Michael has no idea what he is talking about when he says pretty much all cards will work. the dv9000 has a socket that only takes cards that look like this

but i want a wireless card so i can boost the range. or hell, any cuz i cant find none that will fit the socket

Your notebook already has wireless built into it but the time of pc card you are looking for is an Express Card slot
