ok i wanna know y when some ppl r sentenced sometimes it comes out 2 be 20 yrs 2 life or 30 or 50? i mean i don't understand that. what does that mean? how does that work?

Their sentence will be 20 years at the least, but could be more depending upon their behavior in prison.

I've never heard of anyone being sentenced for that. What you're talking about is the potential range of sentences for a particular crime. 20 years to life means that the person can be sentenced from anything from 20 years to life in prison.

20 to life means you are eligible for parole after 20 years and so on with 30 to life etc.
