Women USUALLY have periods lasting for a week. Now, I said usually. Periods can sometimes actually last to 3 weeks even if that sounds ridiculous.
Just for your safety, check with your doctor. There are alot of factors that influence your cycle.

Was your the time b/w your last period and this one the same? If,not you could be experiencing a the lost of a fertilized egg. Is the bleeding heavy, normal, or lite? And is it consistantly throughout the day? Have you had any sexaul activity recently that was uncomfortable or painful? If so, it could also be a factor. I suggest you see your doctor. Excessive blood loss can cause or be symptoms of other issues.

Happened to me before, just that mine was 12 days instead of 14. I've talked to my older sister and some of my friends and YOU ARE NORMAL. Your cycle may not be as regular anymore, but it happens to everybody. Also, note: your period next month may be very short.

Definitely go see your doctor. If this is something different than your normal cycle, there could be something seriously wrong.

Are you on birth control? Have you been evaluated for fibroids, or other abnormalities of the uterus? See your doctor to know for sure
