If you made an Alliance avatar, delete it. Horde levels at least 10X faster, hope that helps.

You can solo the majority of the first few levels but the fastest way to level in any mmorpg is to get a tight group of friends that you group with and kill creatures with very fast spawn rates that are easy for you to kill. Faster XP is better XP because it's gonna add up quicker and there's less chance of having to take ten minutes out because someone died. Killing high end mobs is really the dumbest thing you can do. Take a look at EVERY single premiere website for mmorpgs. I wrote most of the essay's on fast leveling.

In addition to mjcalohan's advice, make sure you do the quests. Killing monsters is one thing, but when you have a quest to kill them, you get additional experience points and maybe some coin and gear on top of that. If you have a friend that's been playing the game for awhile, ask them for hand-me-down bags they aren't using. This way you'll have space for items you pick up off the monsters, and need to run to town less often to sell things you don't want.

GO to the forest and kill the boars. Spend every minute of your life killing boars.
