How about:
"Polygraphs can be useful in the proper circumstances and environments. A job interview, however, is neither the time nor the place for such a device."
ALSO - If you want a tip to help your argument, polygraphs lie at least 1/3 of the time. It's a statistic I learned back in college when I took psychology. Sorry, but I don't have a link to the facts at this time.

For that to work, you need to specify the conditions under which it is okay to administer the lie detector test. So, say something like this:
Because they are unreliable and violative of personal freedoms, polygraphs should not be administered in all but the most exceptional circumstances, such as in the interrogation of suspected terrorists, etc. Then devote the first part of the body to explaining why they're bad. After that, explain why they SHOULD be used in those special cases. Finally, write a conclusion that rewords you introductory paragraph.

If by a thesis sentence you mean a thesis title, it could be something like "The State of the Art of Forensic Polygraphy".
In that title, art means the general expertise and practice of giving polygraph exams. State means how good that art is, and how much it needs to be improved before it will become reliable.

Polygraphs should not be used in employment without good cause.
Employment for both employers and employees would be complicated by the routine use of polygraph testing.
Routine poloygraph testing of employees would cause (list several negative consequences that you will discussin your paper--- like poor trusting relationship, etc).

A polygraph is something that should be used with caution, they are useful but sometimes overrated, and should only be used as a last resort when deemed absolutely necissary.
Hope this gives you something to work with :)
