These people have nothing to lose or gain no matter who the president is. Why is it that we take so much stock in what it is that they think about the different runners? Does anyone else think it is sad that we allow these people (people who have little or no education in the political aspect) to dictate what our thoughts are, based on the roles they pretend to be.

To me, being "blacklisted" is just another piece of getting known. If an actor is taboo, then usually people want to see more of them. I don't know why, but it is that way.

I typically don't listen to them, but you are wrong in saying that they have nothing to lose. Many celebrities in the past have said they were blacklisted due to various politial beliefs. Yes, some are more vocal than others, but if you'll remember during Michael Moore's speech at the Oscars a few years ago, most were not reacting out of fear that they might seem pro or con one side when their jobs depend on them remaining neutral.

I do not care on what these celebrities have to say. Except Brigitte Bardot, -- she defends the rights of animals. Other celebrities use their good name to defend human rights or other similar organizations. Then, we should care. You are bringing an interesting but thorny question. Who has the right to say -- and who cares who says what! It is an individual choice -- there are and should be no rules. Free for all. Of course, the media has the responsibility to publish some interesting thoughts and comments. Long subject but the less we talk about it, the better it is.

I agree with you! These people are not any more qualified to speak out on issues than any other average American. I think it all has to do with grabbing some headline time. Finding time on the air and in print keeps them in the limelight and in the fans minds. No celebrity wants to be out of the media for long. . . .and will do anything to stay in it.

Celebraties are usually less knowledgeable about the issues than the average citizen. Yes, it is sad that uneducated people are willing to listen to them.
I suppose its easier than actually having to learn about the issues.

Since much of the general public thinks celebrities are smarter or more successful than the rest of us, their opinions must be right...or left! Think of young people and rock stars. Who cares what a carpenter or plumber thinks. What does Brittney Spears think?

I don't care what they have to say. Most are uneducated, lucky people who happened to get noticed at a young age and never went on to college or finish high school. Their opinions mean nothing to me, I can decide on my own. They use their money to give to campaigns, and the politicians make promises to them in return.

How can any one take an actor or actress seriousley. They repeat words that are on paper. You might just as well ask the pool boy who to vote for.

I feel the same, they use their stardom to ex spouse their libel agenda. And most people believe them, because they are enamored of most stars, and that's sad because they are not thinking for them selves. they are letting them pick there politicians, and basically how to live there lives. From what they wear to their hair styles to what diet they go on, even their religion.

Celebrities are entitled to their opinion - just as anyone else is, for that matter...
