I like my shopping like I like my women. Quick and cheap.

- A comprehensive range of products and goods, displayed to be accessible and attractive;

- knowledgeable and attentive (but not overly so) wait staff;

- Minimal time spent standing in line to pay for the purchase.

The last one is very important -- to me. While the purchase decision might take some time, this time requires active participation by the customer.

That same consumer, when standing in line for over 3 minutes, might find themselves distracted by all sorts of other stuff that needs to get done. The more impatient and/or harried will find themselves walking away without making a purchase.

Many a customer with disposable income will be willing to pay full retail/premium pricing for the convenience of a "painless" experience.

A clean store, clear aisles, sales associates who aren't pushy - but who are approachable and helpful; a clean fitting room; a smile and a thank you have a nice day at the register. I also like it when employees ask me if I need help with anything else (after I already asked them a question)
