My students also use www.sciencebuddies.org. There is a topic selection wizard that I have them do to help find a project that they will enjoy. There is a link to the wizard on the Science Project Ideas page. There are also links that help you narrow your topic, research your project, design your experiment, and so on.

Remember when you do your project that an experiment TESTS something. You need to have one manipulated variable to produce results and draw conclusions. A lot of kids do activities and call them experiments.

I've had a friend that did an experiment optical illusions before. It was pretty amazing. She had a bunch of optical illusion pictures and tested to see what people saw, and if there was a relationship between viewing accessories and the mindset of people. The variables were people with glasses/contacts, and people without glasses/contacts. Since an optical illusion usually creates two images, she would record what each person saw as she tested them.

This is an experiment for people who are interested in psychology/psychiatry

i did magnets. it was pretty cool and interesting and provides a lot of experiments. take a pencil and put a round magnet (with a hole through the center) on the pencil and then take another magnet also with a whole and put it on top of the magnet. they will do one of two things, stick together or repel. if they stick then take one of them off and turn it around. it will make it look like the magnet is just floating around the pencil cuz the magnetic field repels from the other magnets magnetic field good luck
