I continue to be scared through out the day. My psych teacher says that my bad dreams are a result of me being scared of something in real life, I'm not quite sure what tho. In my dreams Bears are usually involved and I'm stuck and cant get away. The last one that cause the shaking was when my friend was being attacked and i couldnt help her, then it switched from her being attacked to a woman commiting suicide and as i tryed to help her she reached out for me and then cut me in the back of my neck, thats when i woke up. Can someone tell me what the heck is going on here? Thanks

Take a paper and pen and write about it. Read it over and over again. You will in due course find your dream difficult to believe. In due course you will stop having that dream and come to more realistic and believable dreams and after your dreams may even stop. But remember it is good to have dreams, however unpleasant. Shows that even in sleep, you are in the theta state and your brain is harmoniously active.

It sounds like a night terror.. They are awful and I am sorry you are going through this. I have night terrors and they shake me for the whole day.

One thing that helped me a bit was trying a herb called Valerian root. It is a central nervous system relaxer and can help with sleep and dreams. But talk to your doctor before you try any meds...

Also if they continue this badly maybe go see your doctor anyways. Dreams can be a result of bad sleeping conditions, like apnea and other sleep disorders. you may want to try a sleep study at a hospital.

Good luck and again I am sorry you are going through this... people don't seem to understand how real they feel.

You may be having night terrors (which are normal--alot of people have them--including myself). Usually, a person will wake up terrified, shaking, sweating, but have no idea why they are scared. However, some people do remember the nightmares that sent them into that state. I occasionally wake up hysterical after an especially terrifying nightmare. I really can't recommend any ways to stop this except to try and stick to a regular sleep schedule.
