I liked the movie, but I didn't love it. I didn't think this would blow up into a big thing like it is.

It appeals to children. I'm a school teacher, and most of my first graders know the lyrics to all the songs, which is quite something as I live in a spanish speaking country.
Children like to watch the same movies again, and again; I also like it, it's not a great movie, but it is ok. I have watched it two or three times with my daughter.

Because kids around the age of 8 (or crazy 12-year-old girls who think they're more attractive by acting half their age) will be happy to watch and love any of the crap that doesn't make sense in which Disney puts out every year.

I guess a good looking young cast, catchy songs, and repeated airings on Disney catapulted it to mega popularity.

i'm 15..and people my age love it. haha. i think it's one of the stupidest movies in existence (although i always hate it when people randomly break into song..it just isn't natural..). i also can't figure out why people like it so much...

Apparently were some male actors in it that all the little girls thought were sooo dreamy.
