Finally someone who agrees with me, some people have no compassion. I hate it when people treat animals like nothing more then property. All animals, even ants can feel pain. Sometimes I feel so ashamed of the human race. We abuse animals all day as if we are eating chocolates, not terrorizing poor, innocent animals. Then usually the abuse is for us, animal testing for make up, cruelly killing animals for food, skiining them alive for fur, we are nothing more then greedy selfish jerks. I admit, I do eat cow and chicken, but not pork, lamb, viel, or any seafood, but I do prey that for any meat or poultry I eat that it had a long happy life and a quick, non painfull death. In some ways, I would rather hunt wild adult animals to eat. That way I would know that it had a long happy life and a quick, painless death. We could kill animals for food nicely, but instead humans torture them nearly to death. If I see an insect suffering where I know it has basically no chance of living, I quickly kill it to put it out of its misery. Personally, I dont give a frickn care about culture! Some cultures used and still might eat kids and sacrifice people hearts, eat people, and toture people. Would we say 'Well thats their culture, they should be allowed to do it"? No! Those people would be thrown in jail for senseless killing, and thats how it should be for al animals! The painfull tortoring, the senseless killing, the test, all should stop!!!!
There is a really good book out there, called Children of the Earth Remember" Its a really touching story about how animals and humans used to be one loving family, then just friends, then the people forgot about their friendships with animals. You should really read it. Thank You So Much For Actually Caring About Animals, More People Should!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm chinese but born in the UK. I have three cats and love animals. Yes, the mainland Chinese have a different culture to Westerners... My father was brought up on a farm and he told me he once ate a dog. I was so upset with him and didn't speak to him for three years. It also turned me vegetarian...We just have to be careful with little things such as toys which could be made out of real animal fur.if everyone did the same and boycott the products, it would make them think twice about flogging crap like that. As far compassion, it is their way of life. Animals are not humans, that it their way of thinking and I hate it!

You guys should go to a local butchery and see how you natives treat animals.

Use your brain kids. The only difference between a British butchery and a Chinese one is the sanitation. And while you see a Chinese skinning an animal, ask your mother why she is using the end products. It's ridiculous that British natives are consuming the cruelty and accuse at the same time its production. Ridiculous.

Heck, furs of dogs and cats? I know cat is hairy, but dog? How about the 'fur' of a 'pig'? My friend has a piggy pet. How cruel it is that someone is wearing pig's fur? Bah, plainly brainless.

As for the culture, Chinese and 'Korean', eating dogs is actually the culture of Korean, eat only 'dogs' not 'pets', as if you eat pork not piggy. Do you all like bunny? Do you know there was a prosperous farming of rabbit's fur and meat in GB? And it is still there in the Continent. Is Peter Rabbit a survivor from the 'bunny's massacre'? Some people confuse reared animals for flesh and fur with pets, and turn their own ignorance into racial discrimination. Pitiful.

Don't give the reason to arrogant Chinese of being discriminating towards you. They were taught to respect westerners, and they still are. But things are obviously changing due to the empty arrogance and ignorance you are showing towards them.

Its not one nation that lack compassion . Remember thats a country where girl babies are thrown out like garbage; where hundreds of thousands died in revolutions; so how can you expect them to have any compassion for animals?
Theres just as little here. People treat people like crap.
In our country one child a week is murdered at the hands of their parents. And we are supposed to be a nation of animal lovers but still need the RSPCA.

Gazza, I've seen the footage and it and it sickens me to my stomach. These barbaric acts are fuelled by the people who buy the fur. Alot of raccoon dog, cat and domestic dog fur ends up in UK highstreet shops badged up as rabbit fur amongst others (not that I agree with rabbit farming either!). Basically anything stamped up with "made in China" is risky. The favourite are those tacky little fake cats in baskets (kids toys). They're usually real fur. The best course of action is to stop buying fur NOW!!. With the faux fur options available, there is no place for it in our society today and no excuse for causing pain and suffering to thousands of animals each year.

The worst thing ... the killing starts in December through to March so those poor creatures are being skinned alive now. :o(

PS pendragon has clearly missed the point by a mile. We are not talking about butchery where an animal is stunned, throat cut and bled out over a vat (as gruesome as that is, and yes I have witnessed it with my own eyes). We are talking about an animal being skinned alive as cutting the animals throat increases the risk of getting blood on the pelt so there is a BIG DIFFERENCE!

Here's the link for those who haven't seen it http://www.petatv.com/tvpopup/video.asp?video=fur_farm&Player=wm&speed=_med. It opens straight up and be warned, it's not for the weak stomached. Only watch it if you can live with the images in your head forever.

I really have mixed thoughts about animal cruelty. i'm all in favour of preventing cruelty at the same time as it contains drowning kittens and clubbing seals, and beating domestic canines. yet not a lot at the same time as it contains swatting the biting flies, poisoning the fleas on my canines and burning lime disease carrying expensive tics off of my childrens legs...

Chinese and lots of other far east countries make soup with dogs' paws and dishes with cat and such. Cats and dogs are roasted live in the streets, killed in front of the customer.

The furs are sold as cheap fur trim to most western countries, so if you have fur trim on any garment, chances are its dog or cat from China (cheaper).

It's disgusting, and there's nothing anyone can do to make them come out of the middle ages.

i hate people being cruel to animals, but its not just the chinese its the whole world. even in so called animal loving Britain and Europe police use horses to control riots. but thats the golden rule of nature animals are here to serve humans. they are only left alone as long as they have no value.

If we were raised to treat animals that way we wouldn't know the difference, it is sicking to us but part of there culture. The only thing we can do is make sure we continue fighting against animal abuse near us, and educate our children.
