I'll never forget my first memory. Going to the hospital to see my grandfather for the last time. I was three and I wore a white dress with little black polka dots. I climbed into the hospital bed with him as my mom told me to be careful. My family and I stayed for a while visiting and before we left we hugged and kissed. I remember him saying "I love you" and I said it back in return. He died in 1995 from a brain tumor. My cousin who who was 10 at the time had lived with him and my gradmother and almost killed herself over his death several times..and to tell the truth, I'd don't think I'd be alive either without her in my life today. She's like a sister to me. It's the power of love that holds us all together.
