Try Philosophy' "What" we think, or, Psychology, the "Way" we think. Sociology, how thinking people interact in a communal environment, Anthropology, how thinking people evolved from apes.

It depends on what you mean. Philosophy is the study of ideas while Psychology can involve the study of thought processes.

Psychology is the social science study of the mind; generally human, but not always. Neurology and neurobiology are the SCIENTIFIC studies of the brain. Thus, much more advanced in methodologies and solid findings than any social science ever will be .
