I was arrested for a DUI ten years ago when I was young.I have rode a bike since then and excelled in life.Im an engineer now and a triathalete.Ive learned about basics and now my employer wants to get my license back. How do i go about it/ and what will I have to expect.
Im nervous. Im a guy and a very responsible person and Ive just let the idea that the warrant exsists.
Now! Im at a crossroads do I face up to what eventually will have to or keep riding.
Its stupid! I know, but I just hate the unexpected.

The process is pretty simple. It would appear that you are reasonably sucessful in your field now so you should be able to hire some help.

Contact a lawyer in that county who deals with DUI cases (get a referral so you don't end up with some clown). Have him do the ground work and set up the process.

More then likely you can simply appear before a judge without even dealing with the police plead no contest to the first charge and likely have the warrant dismissed. You might even have the first charge reduced but either way you will have the matter settled with a fine or maybe just a thank you since you can show how re-habilitated you now are.

Cowboy up and get it done.. you will feel sooooo relieved afterwards that you will be amazed you didn't do it long ago.

Your question is: how do I take care of an arrest warrant on a DUI. I don't know why people are telling you about what kind of punishment you could get for a DUI.

Anyhow, to answer your question. I am presuming that the Judge issued an arrest warrant for your failure to appear at your DUI hearing or you didn't comply with your alcohol class requirements or something similar.

This is what you do: before you go to court, you call up the court clerk at the courthouse where the warrant was issued. You tell them that you would like to post a bail bond for your warrant.

Maybe you got the case/docket number from 10 years ago, or they can look it up by your personal information.

Ask the court clerk if it's a cash or surety bond. If it's cash, and say it's for $1,000.00, you have to come up with $1,000.00 cash and mail it in to the courthouse. If it's surety, then call a bail bondsman and for $100 you can have the bail bondsman post the bail bond. Either way, the bail bond should be posted before you go to court (otherwise you get arrested, of course you could turn yourself in and get arrested when you go to court if you don't mind and got more time than money).

When you call up the courthouse also ask for a hearing date for your DUI case. You may have to pay a fee to have your case re-opened.

Ok, so you got the bail bond taken care of, you got your court date, so now you can go to court without fear of getting arrested there.

At the hearing, the Judge or Prosecutor will let you know what you need to do to clear up the matter altogether and get your license back. That it in a nutshell. You can do this with or without a lawyer. Good luck!!
