I want my future boots to "elongate" my legs, but I don't want to look as if I'm trying too hard. What should be the maximum limit of the heel/wedge?

I think you should buy wedged suede because, it is much easier to walk in and you will have no worries of tripping or falling and getting your self hurt. The maximum limit of your wedge should be 2.5 inches, because Over that will make you look too tall. Good Luck =)

I'd go with a heel, no more than 2.5 inches. If you're comfortable in 3" go for it. I don't think anyone would think you're trying to hard unless you wear a 4"+ platform.
If you go for a wedge, I think you run the danger of adding weight to your legs and lower body. Although if you are a 5' willowy woman, that might not be a bad idea either.

get a boot with a pointed toe, that really elongates the leg, and i would suggest probably a 2 or 2 1/2 inch heel, its not terribly high but enough to give you an effictive height!! happy boot shopping!

a wedge would make you look shorter becuase of the cut of the heel...
boots would also make you look shorter depending on high they are
shoes that have a pointed tip would make you look a little taller
try to wear pants that fit at the waist and fall away from the body to elongate the leg.... and don't wear shoes that have big straps around the ankle becuase this shortens the look of the ankle making you look shorter
stay away from cropped pants
whatever height heel you can wear & is confortable to you

you dont need high heel shoes! its all about the pants you wear to make you legs look longer there for makeing you look taller! people who were high hills can be sylish AT TIMES,but not aall the time and sometimes for a short girl it looks as tho ur trying to look taller!
