Ok i am new at this job not even 90 days yet. One person on my team left and she sat by the window. I asked for it and my boss said as long as no one with more senoirty ask you can have it The window seat is only for our team and no one wanted it because they would have to change extensions and it would cause problems with clients. Well i got it. Now a few people on my team are acting jelous but they did not ask for it and they have all been there years and knew they could. Also people on other teams are acting funny. Aparently it takes along time to get a window sometimes and i got one in less than 90 days. Will this just pass?

Ignore it. You're not there to please them. You're not there to make friends. You are there to do a job. If it becomes a problem as far as work is concerned; talk to your manager. She/he will straighten it out.

I went through something similar, however I was coming into an office as a newbie, but a specialty educated newbie. That knowledge did not sit well with the "old birds" who've been there for the last 10-20 years, who got their job simply by showing up in nice clothes. I came in highly polished, and educated in the field and that scared the b-jesus out of them (what with recent layoffs and restructuring, I totally sympathized). But while they were busy pissing and moaning and not giving me any direction and gossiping, I did my work and figured it out so efficiently that I was promoted inside of 4months of getting hired. Can you say JEALOUS? Oh well...Now I make more than my old team combined.

I think it will just pass. My team members said a few things to me after I started about how I got a large cubicle. Just like you, it was the only spot left in the team. I am sure that my co-workers could have had it, if they asked about moving but it would have been a hassle for them and their clients etc..
Don't let any ones negative attitude affect your job performance. Just keep working hard and being nice to your co-workers.

I went through a similar thing when I got an office of my own at my last job. I did what you did - it was vacant, it was only for our department, I asked for it, they said "ok." Many people who had been in cubicles for a long time were cool for quite awhile.

You just have to let them be upset. Just keep being nice, and they'll eventually get over it. Don't take it personally, you didn't do anything wrong.

Well the way that I see it is if knowone asked then that is their problem to deal with and not yours. Ever heard the saying "if you snooze you lose"? Well guess what...they lost!!!

Whatever your co-workers problem is, trust me they will get over it eventually. Dont waste too much time worrying about what a co-worker thinks or what their attitude may be towards you. Someone is gonna always have a problem with whoever on any job...that's just how it is.

Always kill them with kindness and keep it moving...you're there to make money and not to please some uptight crabby worker who who doesnt know how to speak up for what they want.

Good Luck!

Instead of peeing them off, next time, pee on them. It's their problem that they didn't take it when offered, and they should all grow up and get over it. I mean if it were that important they would have already taken it. Whiners belong in kinder care, not the workplace. Tell them to suck it up, and move on.

if no one else wanted it, then don't worry about it too much, they adjust, not sure what their problem is, but it may be something else all together
