From the mountains, high desert, coast and cities. I want it all in one as well as national with no roaming. I don't care much about data plans.

thank you.

I disagree with the other answerer. In western Oregon the best coverage is from Edge Wireless. They were affiliated with AT&T and have the largest number of cell phone towers on the coast. They are independent (at least for the moment as I understand it) but still connected indirectly to Cinglar (who is as of today, going back to the AT&T name).

Verizon does have good coverage, but on the coast, in the mountains between the coastal range and the cascades, the best signal is from Edge. In the larger cities, like Coos Bay, Florence and Lincoln City, almost every carrier has good coverage. But in the more remote areas it's Edge. And I don't care about data either. My basic plan is $39.95 with national calling without long distance fees and no roaming anywhere in the northwest.

Without question, verizon wireless has been Named Coverage "King" in the western part of the United States...as well as nationally. Verizon has the Nations Best Most Reliable Wireless Network. Cingular claims to have "the fewest dropped calls", however, they only consider the dropped calls. When Verizon says The nations best most relaible wireless network...well they mean it. More calls that go through, fewer dropped calls, and the best data connections in the industry! They also have the the Industries ONLY worry free guarantee!

They really are the best: go to: http://verizonwireless.com/bestnetwork for more details.

---Pricing & Plans---

All of Verizon's plans (except their local plans which are basically useless) includ unlimited free roaming...that means NO FEES!! This price plans begin at 39.99 for 450 minutes (unlimited nights & weekends and free mobile to mobile) up to over 300.00 for 6,000 minutes.
