A lot of women miscarry the first time they are pregnant. She should keep up her appointments with her doctor, follow the doctors advise, eat healthy and stay healthy. Hopefully it will end in a beautiful new niece or nephew.

If she was doing everything right the first time, no smoking, drinking, or drugs, there is no way to prevent another miscarriage. I had a healthy pregnancy then a miscarriage, then 2 months later was pregnant with my 2nd child, then I had a third. Best of Luck to your sister

The only way to prevent pregnancy is to use protection, i.e. birth control pills, condoms, IUDs, spermicide BEFORE getting pregnant.
