Take a few minutes and try to imagine what the world would look like without sports. Pretend that we all woke up one morning and there were no sports. No NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, no NCAA no college sports at all, no high school or youth leauge sports ALL sports GONE
How do you think that would impact the united states and the world?
Do you think that we would be able to function effectivly as a society?
I would really like to hear what all the sports fans out there think.

I hope this isn't a repeat answer, but I can't find my first one.....Sorry if it is.......
Even back in the days of the Roman Empire there were sports......Chariot racing, Gladiators were all sport.......What about hunting for food back in the days of the caveman???.......Hunting is considered a sport (not to me, but to the rest of the world it probably is)........Sports has been with us since we were born and will always be with us........
Sure society would function, how effectively is another question......How effectively does society function now with so many given situations????.......
If we never had sports to start with, we wouldn't miss it right???.....We can't miss what was never there........
For me personally, I go into football withdrawal the minute the last play of the Super Bowl is over.........I love baseball, and basketball without Jordan has lost a lot of it's flavor for me........I'm back to watching the last 2 minutes of the games instead of sitting glued to the TV for the entire game......
Hockey I can live without..........Boxing, ain't at all what it used to be..........For me, the things I've mentioned are the things I would really miss most..........GREAT QUESTION!!!!!........CAT

I honestly don't think it's possible. Competition is part of human nature. Remember the quote in Jurassic Park? "Life will find a way"
Well, sport will find a way. If all the major stuff were gone, I'm guessing Iron Chef would become the new favorite competition in America. Video games would probably be the most likely, however. Imagine having a Halo Bowl.

I am sports freak, but I also know that there are many more important things in the world besides sports.... God, Family,health. So I think that I would be ok!! But Some people maybe not. Who knows.
