Yes, you should clean your face before applying foundation. You should only wash your face with a product made for cleansing the face. I like the little disposable washcloths that they make. The most important thing about applying foundation is blending it really well. You need to get make-up wedges to blend it well and you need to have good lighting so that you can see what you're doing. Make sure you blend it really well along your jaw line and hair line. You don't want to have that color line like some people do. Also you need to make sure that your foundation is the right color for your skin tone. You can have a foundation made especially for you to match your skin tone. You should go to a good department store in your area and have a consultant help you pick out a good foundation for you and show you just how to apply it. Good luck!

In a well lit room, clean and dry your face. I prefer to use my finger but you might feel better with a wedge (walmart, cvs will have them). Put a small amount on your finger. Dot this amount on your forehead, cheeks nose and chin. If you need more than the original amount then take out a little more. Then you should rub all over your face until it has spread evenly. Remember that you want the foundation to be as thin as possible. Too much foundation will be obvious. Allow the foundation to dry for about 5 min before putting on clothes. If you have a liquid to powder then thats it! If you were using a liquid foundation, most women also follow up with a powder. If you are one of those women allow a small amount of powder to go onto the poof and gently pat powder on your cheeks, nose, chin and forehead. Then use the poof to even out the light powder all over your face. Remember that this will take practice to master so you should try it at least once before going out. Ask friends or family how the application looks.

You should clean your face thouroughly with either soap and water or a good cleanser, dry, and apply moisturizer. After allowing moisturizer to hydrate your skin, (5-10 minutes) using a cosmetic sponge, apply liquid makeup in upward motion on your face and allow to set for a few minutes..a sheer, or translucent powder can be applied at this time lightly, to insure that your makeup will last..to have the flawless look you are interested in, use a light, not full coverage makeup..Good Luck!

I have always been told that before applying foundation wash your face with warm water. Then put a little lotion on it. This will help for the foundation to stay on and not rub off as much. I also always use a foundation that is a shade lighter than my face because if its too dark, you can get that mask line by your neck. If it needs to be a little darker I rub some bronzer on my cheeks, forehead, and chin and everything looks fine. I use CoverGirl Trublend liquid foundation that i just use my fingers to rub onto my face. It feels very light and it matches 97% of skin tones. After that, I apply CoverGirl loose powder to set everything. Good Luck!

yuo should clean your face first because otherwise the pores that arent cleansed will stay dirty under you cover up and create blackheads and pimples and no girl wants any of those. I usually apply my foundation with my two fingers but you should use the disc shaped pads. Its cleaner. anyways start by dabbing some on your forehead and nose and then move down your face ending by your jaw line. The smear it around and make sure it is fully camouflaged with your skin tone.

OoOoO I love this question...First Wash ur face with cold water becuz that closes up ur pores and keeps makeup from fillin up ur pores. 2 get a liquid foundation that is ur skin tone and apply on a thin layer. 3 get a powder that is ur skin tone and apply on top of the liquid. And then the other stuff as u like, mascara, eye shadow etc. I suggest u use Nuetrogena line becuz its oil free and good for ur skin.

Whatever you do don't overdo foundation and look fake. Dab some on different spots on your face, i.e., some on forehead, some on the cheeks, some on chin, etc. Blend with your fingers and if you like use a sponge to blend it. And, blend into your chin/neck area so you don't end up with a line of foundation along there.

do your foundation or powder from the inside out. and if u have a chubby face put your cheek color from your high cheek bone to the cheek part close to your nose. put a little so you wont look like a peanut head. wash your face before and after. try to put your cover up all even throughout your face.

-start with using a facial cleanser...
-use a make-up sponge[they're triangular] to apply
-you're supposed to not use the same sponge another day/time because it can hold bacteria bt serious who really always remembers right? lol
-just dab a pea sized amount on to the sponge and gentle strokes
not alot becuase then it would look caked and lighter
-make sure and apply to your jawline, chin & neck up to collar bone to make it blend in
-flawless looks mostly depends on making sure the foundation is the right one for you, including colour and undertones
