Well when people instant message me on MSN i set my icon to say something like gone fishing, and most of the people who know me can tell I'm having a nap or resting my knee, perhaps you can do something similar so people know when you want private or quiet time, but if that doesn't work i find that telling the truth to these people usualy works after all you can't go wrong with the truth.
