I have patiently been waiting for George RR Martin to come out with "A Dance with Dragons", but it almost seems like he's just not even working on it right now. I'm a little worried because he's getting old, and he still has several books and its been like 10 years now since a Song of Ice and Fire started... I was thinking of getting all the fans together and hiring him a personal bodyguard/doctor/personal trainer to follow him around and ensure his life expectancy is long enough to complete the series.. anyone else direly awaiting the arrival of his book?

I finally got the latest one in paperback and read it. I'm cheap, I didn't want to buy the hardcover, so I didn't even know that he PLANNED on writing one after this. Then halfway through I was like... um... what about some of my favorite characters? (I love the dwarf, god bless him.) Then I read the back of the book and discovered his plan to divide the characters. I, personally, am not much of a fan of this. I think it isolated the characters too much and now, we know who will interact and who will not if they are both supposedly based on concurrent time periods. This sucks, because I wanted some of my favorites to interact with each other. I found that I waited too long between the third and fourth book though, and I really started to forget who some of the characters were. I think that this is what Martin is threatening to do by waiting so long to release/write "A Dance with Dragons". It's such an extensive, long winded plot and character line that even if you're GREATLY anticipating the book, you've forgotten things in the process. But I'll definitely chip in. What about Queen Latifah? I'll bet she can beat a story out of him.

I love this guys work. I've read through the complete series each time a new book comes out and I'm hoping to start over again sometime soon...he has led us to believe that the next one will be out in a few months.

But I agree, his health is of some concern....it just wouldn't be the same if another author finished the book in the event of his unfortunate death.

actually the superior new delusion sequence. i replaced into very inspired by technique of technique of the time and aspect Martin placed into bobbing up his delusion global. i ought to continuously theory Tolkien replaced into fantastic in that aspect, yet had to revise my evaluation. i replaced into also very overjoyed to hit upon a chain the area the characters had actual psychological intensity. i understand the concept of "good individual adult adult males" as adverse to "amorphous evil Lord" has been a staple of delusion for decades, and that is truly a sparkling replace to have characters who partake from both the noble and the vicious factors of guy's personality.
