I know I try lipstick on my hand to see what color it is and I'm sure some people actually try it on. If you rinse it with alcohol, will that kill germs and viruses without damaging the lipstick? Hot water would melt it. I thought about bleach. Anyone know?

The last ones I bought were sealed up in plastic covering. I will not buy lipstick that is used or open. There isn't any way to sterilize lipstick.

There is no way to sterilize lipstick. All you can do is buy sealed lipsticks. Cutting off part of the lipstick would help but it really wouldn't be clean.

Only buy sealed from drug stores, you can look a lip stick and tell if its been tampered with. Other options would be clean with alcohol or cut off the expsoed area.
