I discovered that after I experience deep shock or sadness, or after anything very negative or touching, I end up being unusually happy or hyper.

Isn't this common to most people? Does anyone know what the name of this kind of psychology is?

Although people who are bipolar, or people who are manic depressive can have similar symptoms, this is probably just your mind's way of dealing with bad events....its actually much healthier than continuing to be depressed.

I don't' believe you become happy after a deep shock. I think unconsciously you want to pretend to be happy so that people around you don't get worried about you.

Like when my dad died, I guess I was the one who was trying to keep everyone's spirit up. Maybe just because I didn't want anyone to realize how sad and broken I was/am inside about losing my dad.

Does it make sense?

i theorize that you are happy after deep shock because you want to recover so much from that shock and want to feel something other than sadness.....

hope it helps good luck =)
