I don't know....coming from a chinese family, we 'drink tea' when other family members visit and I am not particularly enthusiastic about attending if I especially don't like the family members visiting.

Doing dishes, cleaning out the cat litter, and poopy-scooping the backyard. Not fun. I'd rather have tea with the family members of yours that you don't like.

Interesting. I was going to say something silly, but your exp was a think-maker. Darn it. In that line, I 'hate' being a polite guest at people's houses - one of my friends comes to mind. His wife hates all his pre-marriage friends, and she lets ALL of us know about it when we're there. I usually don't stay as long as I've said I will...I get emergency calls a LOT! (She invites us, then treats us like crap.)

i'm not enthusiastic about being on the phone. i don't like scheduling doctors appointments, car appointments, or calling my credit card company to ask why my interest rate isn't lower.
