Why are women so uptight about men viewing pornography?

It seems women are a bit more prudish when it comes to watching a movie or looking at pictures than men are, why is this?

I don't care if my boyfriend watchs porn (sometimes, I start the movie), I enjoy porn, some of it's really funny. So, why do I feel like I'm in the minority?

There's also the parody-porns. The Osporns, Space Nuts, etc. Those are funny, and we've seen them because they're funny.

My boyfriend and I went into the relationship with our seperate collections, some of which were the same. I highly doubt I'd have to talk him into watching porn.

Yeah, I think this type of comment is what makes women think the way they do about pornography.

I think they feel threatened by the other women and their ability to be so open with their sexuality. Also, I think it may be a self-esteem issue. If someone has a problem with their boyfriend watching porn then I think they probably don't feel very secure in their relationship either.

not all women are so uptight, it's the men reactions that I don't like. They learn that some things are ok from porn that nobody I know would want done. While porn may llok good, the guys who take it in place of life experience can make things interesting, and not always in a good way, for the girl. I'm not a prude and have no problem with the actual idea of watching porn, but people have to realize it's not real life.

If you understood the evolved difference in women and men's reproductive strategies, then you would understand this. All the women here who will answer in the affirmative to liking porn, like in context, with their partner, or are in the tail of human behavior, here. Look at who buys it by a overwhelming margin and who will go to the seediest places and pay good money to see it. As a woman, you can find some of it funny, but a man NEVER finds porn funny, though some times he gets bored with it's sameness.

PS Your boy friend is probable 40 years younger than I and he probably only watched that movie you mentioned because YOU wanted to watch it. I doubt that you ever watch alone, or go to porno emporiums alone. Get real, as you are still a woman. Celebrate that; do not try to become a closet male, as your boy friend might find someone else then!

Some porn is funny, you think "What the heck are they doing?" or my fave "Oh...so that's how you do it!"
I personally have no problem viewing porn, it can be fun.
Yeah some of the women are hot, but they have their flaws which can be seen ( I checked), I have seen the stretch marks, cellulite, bad bikini jobs, and lets not forget the bad boob jobs.
I think I would be more upset if mybf/hubby was watching with out me.
But I can understand some women not liking it. They may feel like their partner may compare them to the women regarding their body or performance/experience.

Jealousy. Most women don't like porn because they don't think they are nearly as good looking as the women in porn so they suffer from insecurity. That's why a lot of girls get pissed if their boyfriends look at porn because they throw down the "what, I'm not good enough?" argument or some variation thereof. The reason you feel like you're in the minority is because most people (guys and girls alike) are insecure, hence the jealousy from women in this particular instance.

I think it comes down to security within one self and your significant others sense of security within themselves. If they are secure about who they are, what they have to offer, and where their partner stands as far as their feelings and security for eachother or in the relationship has a lot to do with this dilema. It is a mixture of social gender roles, predominately placed on women by religion. Those same women who are uptight about it, end up watching it when they dont have a Boyfriend, but the second they do, their mind frame changes as they think the boyfriend is shifting his attention and love to the porn stars on the screen. This is where the sense of insecurity lies, and comes the negative view of porn as being bad, because it makes them feel bad about themselves or the relationship.

If your in a mature loving relationship and value trust, partnership, and respect. Then you make love (no need for porno)

If your in a not so serious not so respectful need a little help spicing things up in the bed room cause my partner doesn't turn me on type of relationship, then you just f*** (with the help of porno of coarse).

And for all those women who say it is being "secure" if it's okay for your man to watch porno you gals are fools. Your actually insecure little fools with no self respect no dignity and hold little value to yourself. And when you have no self respect then you see no need for others to give it to you.
Stop following these "fads" and open your eyes to the real meaning of pornography.

Looking at a girls &*^%$#&@ is kind of gross and the last thing I want to see. That is why guys like it so much. You enjoy porn for the same. Your man might be watching the dude! See that sh*t is sick. lol
I'd rather see a hot, cut (as in 6 pack) guy with no shirt on cleaning stalls, workin on the truck, etc. and lookin fine. lol
