I don't know about the Herman's but turtles make great pets.
Think floor space. Most don't like to climb, but want to walk around in a big area. Kiddie pools are great for them, especially if they are aquatic.
My favorite hint: keep all the lights and warmers at one end. That way there is a super warm spot for him to bask and a cooler spot. That way they can pick where they are the most comfy.

Google Herman's Spur Thighed Tortoise. Care sheets will appear by magic. LOL!!
Do lots of research, you don't want to make any tragic mistakes.

Check out this site for Spur thigh care:

Hermans are different tortoises...

CHeck out some sites that tell you their care.

I would list it but it really is elaborate and requires alot of work. You should have a Tort table for these two species, they do get medium sized. I vivarium will be too small once they reach adult hood. And a little tip....you might want to get a juvinile instead of a baby because they require alot more care and the mortality rate for babies is rather high even if you get them from a good breeder. From experience I know this.
