Try the Oprah Winfrey Book club picks. She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb. One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez is a book to reckon with, I usually go through the list and pick anything at random. They have not failed. This way you also get informed variety. If you are looking for non fiction, please read A short history on nearly everything by Bill Bryson and also Jared Diamond's Guns, Germs and Steel. Happy reading!

A great non fiction book I just finished Reading is Eat Pray Love By Elizabeth Gilbert. She writes about her travels through Italy, India and Indonesia in search of Pleasure, Spiritual guidance and Balance. Once of my favorite fiction books is Bitten By Kelley Armstrong. Its a realistic take on werewolves. An awesome book!

I read this amazing book called "Searching for David's Heart" by Cherie Bennett when i was like in 6th grade. It is my favorite book that I have ever read.....and i read a lot of books..no joke. There were tears on the page because i was crying so hard and i was so into the book i couldnt get a tissue to wipe my tears away. The book is about a girl and her search for her brothers heart. It touches you in such a way. All ages should read this book it is amazing. I read this story several times now and it touches my heart. It's just the best book you will ever read. And I really think that if you pass up the chance to read this then you're really missing out.

I also loved "Where the red fern grows" by Wilson Rawls. Its a book about a boy who wants 2 coon dogs, but his parents are poor. He finds an ad in the paper for two pups for 50 bucks. He works for 2 years and saves up the money. He travels out into the city to get his pups. He trains em and they become the best coon huntin dogs. In the end, the pups died( lil ann, the girl, died because she couldnt live w/o old dan) and old dan died after he had a fight with another animal. Where they were burried, a red fern grew. Its really a sad story of never giving up. I loved it a lot.

I have read close to 600,000 books in my lifetime and still read about 400 books a year. I don't read to much non-fiction any more because the authors; to me; are either biased or do not really know the sum of their works. Meaning they just invent what they cannot explain. Fiction is more informative because you are always wondering; if the author's haven't listed them; what sources they used when writing their books. If you wish to read a good mystery/thriller try either AMAZONIA by James Rollins or TEMPLE by Matthew Reilly who in my opinion is the best mystery/thriller writer today. His newest books is called THE SEVEN DEADLY WONDERS and is a really good seat of the pants, nailbiting read. Enjoy.

Try Terry Goodkind, Clive Barker, Vince Flynn, Tom Clancy, David Weber, or Clive Cussler. Tons more. Try going to a local bookstore & grab a few to check out in the store.

i don't really read nonfiction books, but here are some fabulous fiction books i've read throughout my life...

just listen by sarah dessen
that summer by sarah dessen
dreamland by sarah dessen
keeping the moon by sarah dessen
the truth about forever by sarah dessen
this lullaby by sarah dessen
(sarah dessen is this really great author; she has really deep stories that get to your heart; and i know people associate deep with boring, but it really isnt. her books say 'be yourself', 'flaws are okay', and 'nobody is perfect'.)

twilight by stephenie meyer
new moon by stephenie meyer

kissing kate by lauren myracle
ttyl by lauren myracle
ttfn by lauren myracle
(deals with real-life problems; extremely real. ttyl and ttfn are written entirely in IMs)

eragon by christopher paolini
eldest by christopher paolini
(great if you're the type who likes reading 'lord of the rings' or 'harry potter')

once upon a time i was obsessed with chick lit (you know, those books that revolve around being popular, and being cool, and having all those boys love you...) but thats not me now. i loved the clique series, the a-list series, the gossip girl series.... but then i realized all those books promoted something that was not right, but utterly wrong (and i know this is gonna get me so many thumbs-downs). these books were saying that you had to be gorgeous and rich to be cool. these books were saying that you HAD to be cool, otherwise boys didnt like you. those books sliced down my self-esteem.
so i stopped reading them. entirely.
but these books are written by authors who get to the HEART of their readers.

i know this is NOT going to get a best answer considering how extremely biased i am but i really hope you'll read this and take my advice, and at least read one of the books i recommended. (especially the ones by sarah dessen)
they're extroardinary.

hope this helps!!!!!
