It is for English but the teacher wants us to write something that pertains to our major, mine is nursing. The paper is 10-12 pages and I have to be able to find at least 8 sources. I am clueless on ideas, I want something new that isn't written about constantly or a new look on an old subject....any ideas? Thanks

How about the pros and cons of foreign nurses. You could go into the lack of training in some countries, not knowing the language, and the shortage of nurses in the US.

There is an organization of nurses and doctors I read recently about ,that are starting there own program/ sick of all the red tape of hospitals and how they were slowing things down/ it was more of an ethical / responsibilities to patients. They were breaking from the traditional format, also had to do with the education and time wasted on hours of the same ole same ole, degrees. But it was real interesting that it was happening, it was a great cause and idea, wish I could remember where I saw it. check around, it was in mag. saw it at my chiropractors office.

An interesting topic for a nurse could be a study on the effects of standing for long periods of time, the shoes that provide the best support, and what it is that leads to back pains. This way you can learn how to prevent a problem before it becomes an issue for you. I think this topic is unique and has a lot of potential.

I just finished a paper on the shortage of male nurses and how to recruit more men into the field of nursing to ease the nursing shortage as a whole. I included 10 references and so far have gotten a good response out of it. I get my grade for it Sunday and hopefully, I will get an A. I think my paper is good and the peer reviewer gave me an excellent review and I actually pursuaded her or him to think and believe that we need to recruit more male nurses! My husband is in nursing school and he works for a major hospital in Indianapolis and he is one of two men in his department which is ortho surgery! Everyone in his department feels like the medical field needs more men to be RN's!

What about historic medical-associated females e.g. Madame Curie, Florence Nightingale etc. in how they were remembered for what they did in their period of history and possibly how they affected today's world of nursing/medical field.

Hope this helps.
